Supercars don't get a second attempt.

Exotics and supercars come through our bays, and so do cars from luxury dealerships across the DMV. There's no practice panel on a car like that — the film goes on right the first time or it doesn't go on at all. That's the standard every vehicle here gets, whether it's a Civic or a Lamborghini.

Why ceramic film is worth the difference.

Heat, not just darkness

Ceramic film rejects infrared heat, so a lighter shade can cool the cabin more than a dark cheap film ever will.

No purple, no bubbles

Dyed film fades and lifts within a few summers. Ceramic holds its colour and stays flat for the life of the car.

Cut to your exact glass

Patterns are cut to your year, make and model. Nothing gets trimmed with a blade against your glass.

The shop, and what leaves it.

All of it here in Sterling. Ask to see the same work on your model when you call.

What's legal in Virginia, Maryland and DC.

VLT is how much light gets through the film and glass together. A higher number is a lighter tint. These are the limits for passenger cars.

 Front sidesRear sidesRear glass
Virginia50% VLT35% VLT35% VLT
Maryland35% VLT35% VLT35% VLT
Washington DC70% VLT50% VLT50% VLT

SUVs, vans and pickups get more latitude behind the driver: Maryland allows any darkness on the rear glass and rear sides of a multipurpose vehicle with dual side mirrors, and DC allows 35% there. All three allow non-reflective film on the windshield above the AS-1 line or the top five inches, whichever is less, and all three cap reflectivity. Limits are measured on the finished window, film plus factory glass together. Verify current limits with the relevant DMV before choosing a shade.

Questions we get every day.

How long does it take?

Most cars are a two-hour turnaround. Drop it off, run an errand, and it's ready. Larger vehicles and full-coverage film jobs take longer, and we'll tell you exactly how long when you call.

What's the warranty?

Lifetime warranty on every film we install — tint, paint protection film, all of it. We register it for you, so there's no paperwork on your end, and it's serviced at any Tint World location nationwide or anywhere in the world.

Can you remove old tint?

Yes. Removal is an additional charge, and we need to see the car in person to quote it. How the old film was installed and how long it's been on make a real difference to the labour, so a sight-unseen number would be a guess.

What about a Virginia medical exemption?

Virginia lets drivers with a qualifying medical condition run darker film, down to 35% on the side windows, through a DMV authorization. You submit form MED-20 with a statement from a licensed physician or optometrist. Front windshield tint is checked at the annual safety inspection, so have the paperwork sorted before yours comes due. Call us and we'll walk you through where you stand.
